The Groupama Group and Total have signed a Future State of Completion Lease for the construction of the The Link project which will house Total's future headquarters in Paris La Défense. The Link, in reference to the "links" (footbridges) that will link the two wings of the tower, is a project designed by the architecture firm PCA-STREAM on behalf of Groupama, owner of the site, and will be built by Vinci Construction France.

The Link project

Located in the Michelet district, The Link consists of two towers linked on 30 levels by green walkways. The 'Arche' wing will rise 228 metres above the Parvis with 50 floors and the 'Seine' wing will rise 165 metres with 35 floors. The complex will rest on a common base of three levels between the urban boulevard and the square. The footbridges will allow the creation of 3,000 sq.m and 6,000 sq.m duplex floors, all the floors being connected two by two by large open and easily accessible staircases. Employees will benefit from 130,000 sq.m of office, restaurant, co-working and relaxation space. Spaces designed to improve the quality of well-being at work and collective efficiency.

"In the very particular context of the current health crisis, the launch of The Link project confirms the attractiveness of our business district. We are proud that The Link will enhance the skyline of Paris La Défense," explains Georges Siffredi, Chairman of the Hauts-de-Seine and Paris La Défense Department.

The Link will have the highest environmental certification (HQE Exceptionnel), guaranteeing the highest standards in terms of energy efficiency, thermal and acoustic comfort. 100% of the workstations will be on the first day and 25% of the energy required to light the tower will be provided by its photovoltaic facade. The work will be carried out in compliance with the Charter of the Circular Economy in the Real Estate and Construction sector, signed by Groupama Immobilier and VINCI Construction France.

Rethinking public spaces and traffic flows

The arrival of The Link Tower in 2025, will transform the landscape of the now landlocked Michelet district. Tomorrow, the district will be largely connected to the rest of the Puteaux area and will bring a real dynamic to Paris La Défense.

"This tower, with its location in the Michelet district, will enable us to rework the traffic and connections with the town of Puteaux," explains Georges Siffredi, President of the Hauts-de-Seine Department and Paris La Défense.

In close collaboration with the Department of Hauts-de-Seine and the City of Puteaux, a study has been carried out in favour of creating urban connections, to link the slab to the town centre of Puteaux. The requalification of the circular boulevard, which today forms a boundary between the business district and the centre of Puteaux, is also being studied in order to transform it into a peaceful urban boulevard that can be crossed on foot.

At the same time, the Cours Michelet will be thoroughly renovated and planted to reinforce its existing offer (shops, terraces, etc.) and create new urban spaces as well as gentle links between the hyper-centre of Puteaux and the Esplanade de La Défense.

The delivery of the Carré Michelet (Eurosic Gecina) office complex in September 2019 marked the start of this transformation.

2021: construction of the foundations
2022 : construction of the basement (7 floors, from the 2nd basement to the 2nd floor).
2023 - 2025: construction of the structure at the rate of one floor per week, interior fittings 2nd semester 2025: finishing, control and acceptance of the building site
