A new generation tower signed Jean Nouvel in the heart of the Rose de Cherbourg

300 metres from Cœur Transport, fully integrated into the Cherbourg Rose restructuring project, the Hekla Tower is part of an urban environment in the midst of redevelopment. The project is accompanied by the requalification of the ring of the Boulevard Circulaire into a suspended walkway planted with vegetation in the inspiration of the New York High Line, as well as new links between the town of Puteaux and La Défense.

Designed by the Ateliers Jean Nouvel, the architecture of the future building is inspired by the triangular plot on which the tower is built. Trapezoidal shapes can be seen on the façades with multiple sunbreakers that will contribute to the thermal regulation of the building.

Innovative in its architectural composition, the Hekla Tower also aims to be a pioneer in the way it approaches the working environment of its future employees. The co-developers of the project, Hines and AG Real Estate, have brought together a group of young talents, the "Creatives", around Jean Nouvel. Six personalities who embody French excellence in fields such as sport, philosophy, universal accessibility, gastronomy, design and artificial intelligence, have reflected on the daily lives of the thousands of employees who will work at Hekla. The collective is composed of Édouard Detrez (Entrepreneur and creator of the French Wheelchair), Grégory Dupont (Physical preparer of the French world champion football team in 2018), Julia de Funès (Philosopher), Marion Flipo (Chef and entrepreneur), Ramy Fischler (Designer), Rand Hindi (Data scientist and entrepreneur).

Between now and 2022, its 48 floors will accommodate up to 5,800 employees and will profoundly rebalance the skyline of Paris La Défense.

With this audacious project, no less than five Certifications and labels are targeted: HQE exceptional level, BREEAM excellent level, LEED platinum level, EFFINERGIE, and the WELL Silver level label.

As for the awards already granted, the Hekla Tower has been awarded the WiredScore Platinum level label and the "Golden Stone 2019" prize for the Best Program.
