Work on The Link Tower

Nov 1, 2020 - Jan 31, 2021

Progress of work

Current phase: Cleaning, asbestos removal and removal of the facades of the Le Michelet building
The cleaning of the building (sorting, recycling of materials) has been completed, with the exception of one floor used for site installations.

Asbestos removal is in progress, with progress of around 50%. For the removal of the façades, protective equipment (scaffolding or bi-mats) has been installed on almost all the façades. Approximately 30% of the façades have been removed.

Protection of the Vineyard Gateway
As the PB22 building to be demolished is directly overhanging the footbridge over the vineyards, the latter has been equipped with a covered walkway for protection.

Start of demolition

From when?
Demolition work will start at the end of November.

How will it be carried out?
The first demolition works concern the building at the point on the side of the Boulevard Circulaire (in grey below). Given its reduced height and its complete demolition, it will be deconstructed using a large shovel from the ground. The excavator will be equipped with a clamp (concrete crusher) in order to avoid as much as possible the use of rock breaker points.

The demolition of the tallest buildings will be carried out using small machines placed inside the building to "trim" the building (areas in red). These buildings, which will become smaller after this phase, can then be demolished using large shovels (areas in yellow). Finally, buildings such as the one above the Passerelle des Vignes or the building near the Cours Michelet and above the Michelet car park will be completely "capped" because of the conservation of the works below.

What measures have been put in place to limit nuisances?
In order to limit the potential nuisance of these works, continuous measurements of noise, vibrations and dust will be carried out. The excavators will also be equipped with misting at the source in order to limit dust during the grinding of the concrete.

Are pedestrian modifications to be expected?
During the demolition of the building above the footbridge of Les Vignes, and in particular of the lower levels, it will be necessary to close the footbridge from 10am to 4pm. We will inform you in advance of the closure dates, which are expected to take place from the 1st quarter of 2021.

The schedule for the next three months :
The work schedule will comply with the regulations of the town of Puteaux and will be carried out between 7.30am and 7pm. They are broken down as follows:

  • Asbestos removal work inside the buildings;
  • Removal work on the façades;
  • Demolition work.
