The oldest solidarity race in the neighborhood is back for another edition! Come and change the way people look at mental disabilities by running with Special Olympics. See you on October 12th, from 12pm to 2pm, on the square of La Défense!
Special Olympics is a sporting event open to all to change the way society looks at mental disability.
This race offers people living with a mental disability the opportunity to experience the joy of sport! The objective? To develop their self-esteem, to create friendships, to discover and share the pleasure of success, and to see their abilities recognized by all!
Form your teams!
2 hours of solidarity during the lunch break around a 4 x 2.5 km course in relays: running or walking.
- 1 team = 10 children who discover the Young Athletes program
- 2 teams = 30 parents sharing a Family Sport day with their children
- 5 teams = 300 kids will play sports together through Unified Sports
- 10 teams = 10 soccer teams coming together for a Special Olympics National Tournament
To develop access to sport for all, the Special Olympics association organizes 12 Inter-company Solidarity Races throughout France as well as a connected challenge; all proceeds are donated to the association. Last year, nearly 2,900 employees from 195 companies were involved in this civic initiative.
In total, Special Olympics brings together 5,600,000 athletes in 174 countries. An international recognition that even allows to organize every 4 years, World Summer and Winter Games!
