The Departments of Hauts-de-Seine and Yvelines are unveiling the 4th edition of the Printemps de la Sculpture which will take place on 25, 26 and 27 March 2022. This event will highlight the sculpted heritage of the two territories with a rich programme of activities both on site and online.

The Hauts-de-Seine and Yvelines Departments are federating 22 partner cultural structures around the Printemps de la Sculpture. This event aims to highlight the sculpted heritage of their territories free of charge through activities, visits, games and rallies both on site and on social networks and online. Indeed, with a view to opening the event to all audiences, the cultural establishments will offer their on-site programming in virtual form with interactive discovery of the territory for young and old. On the programme? Guided tours, routes, modelling workshops, treasure hunts and many other sculptural discoveries from cave art to contemporary art.

A tailor-made programme

For example, the Roybet-Fould Museum and the artist Stéphanie Brancaz will accompany a group of visually impaired people in the creation of a collective work: a bust of a female artist. The idea is to work on the discovery of the museum's collections using tactile modules. This discovery will allow the creation of a work that mirrors the bust by representing a woman artist. The sessions will take place between March and May 2022 and the work will be presented with explanatory panels on the project in June 2022.

Virtual exhibition in storymap

The public can now find a storymap on the dedicated website to explore in maps and images more than 100 works and discover their history around 7 themes:

  • Narrating an event: the representation of allegories and myths in sculptures
  • Men and women: sculpting humans or the art of existence
  • Funny, committed, moving: contemporary creation at work
  • Animals in sculpture. A recurring motif, the presence of animals in sculpture bears witness to the strong relationship between man and animal
  • The strength of abstraction: freeing oneself from a fidelity to reality in order to better dream
  • Sculpture at the service of collective memory
