Spaces La Défense welcomes all September the artist Innocent Twagirumukiza around a free exhibition in the lobby of the building Le Belvédère. Discover the universe of this self-taught painter and sculptor until September 30, 2022.

Innocent Twagirumukiza does not belong to any artistic movement and presents his series of paintings articulated around the theme of confinement and confinement. Sad faces or big smiles, two-tone, painting or collage, his artworks explore both the solitude of confinement and the joy of finding "the outside".

"I find inspiration in myself," says the artist. "Returning to myself allowed me to express myself through the expressions of faces and to parallel the contrast between sadness and joy, which represents the during/after confinement."

These faces are inspired by great characters of history: the David, Hercules, Ada Lovelace, Harriet Tubman... ". It's also a way to pay tribute to them."
