6th edition of the exhibition Les Extatiques from June 22nd to October 1st 2023

The contemporary art exhibition Les Extatiques is back on the esplanade of La Défense and in the gardens of the Seine Musicale around, this year, the four elements. An extraordinary artistic journey, between the visual and the sensory, and an event not to be missed by all those curious about art.

It is a poetic and atypical journey in the open air which is proposed to you, from La Seine Musicale in Boulogne-Billancourt to the esplanade of La Défense. A journey that challenges our senses and transforms our vision of reality.

Fabrice Bousteau, the curator of this new edition, has selected nearly a dozen international artists, including Amélie Bertrand, Jérémy Gobé, Philip Haas, Cornelia Konrads, Bob Verschueren and Erwin Wurm, to propose an original artistic urban stroll with monumental works at the Seine Musicale and Paris La Défense, around the theme of the four elements: fire, air, water and earth. These creations were conceived as "mirrors" in order to underline the link and create a particular resonance between the two sites. The artistic approach thus focuses on the natural elements that make up the two sites: concrete, metal or glass; minerality or vegetation; water or wind; music; verticality; insularity...

As Fabrice Bousteau, explains, it is a question of putting the question of the environment, which worries and frightens us, under a different eye in order to make it something benevolent.

As every year, the exhibition proposes already existing pieces as well as exclusive creations for the event.
