From January 15, 2022, the history of Notre-Dame de Paris cathedral and its construction site will be revealed through an immersive virtual experience and two exhibitions.
An immersive expedition through time and space
Thanks to this unique 45-minute trip, you will dive into the heart of Notre-Dame, from its construction in the 13th century to its current restoration. Equipped with an immersive device, the secrets and masterpieces of the cathedral, totally digitally recreated, can be explored while (re) discovering the historical events and figures that have marked its history.
Good to know: 30% of the ticket price will be donated to the public establishment responsible for the conservation and restoration of the cathedral and to the Notre-Dame Foundation, thus giving each visitor the opportunity to be donor.
Two exhibitions on the cathedral and its construction site with free access
Visitors can also access free of charge two exhibitions dedicated to the cathedral, its history and its construction site:
- The public establishment offers an insight into the site, with the discovery of the main operations and trades. An immersive film gives the floor to the main actors, and presents the operations of the securing phase and the main stages of the restoration. The exhibition is also enriched with a selection of photographs of the highlights of the construction site, accompanied by explanatory texts;
- The diocesan association of Paris presents, for its part, elements of the cathedral's heritage: statues, paintings, pieces of goldsmith's work and liturgical ornaments, in connection with the immersive experience, as well as a chronology major stages in the construction of the cathedral.
