Blood donation: EFS organises a new collection at La Défense

To face the critical situation of blood reserves, the French Blood Establishment calls for your solidarity! From Monday 3 to Friday 7 January 2022, from 1pm to 6pm, the ESF is organising new blood drives at the Hilton Paris La Défense hotel.

Against the backdrop of the health crisis, blood donations are becoming rarer and the needs more numerous. For almost two years, blood reserves have reached an unprecedented situation at a dangerously critical level. According to the ESF, there are currently 77,000 bags of red blood cells collected, whereas a satisfactory level would be 100,000. The forecasts for the next few weeks look even more complicated. Blood donations are irreplaceable and allow more than one million patients to be treated each year in France. Therefore, in order to continue its actions and meet the needs of patients, the ESF is organising an exceptional mobilisation of its teams and its capacities for collecting and receiving blood donors.

**To donate, you must

• Be between 18 and 70 years old;
• Peser au moins 50 kg ;
• Ne présenter aucun des symptômes grippaux ;
• Prendre rendez-vous pour limiter l’affluence et l’attente en collecte ;
• Se munir d’une pièce d’identité.

*La prise de rendez-vous est recommandée mais les donateurs spontanés sont également accueillis.
