On Tuesday 14 November 2023, historian Xavier Hélary will be giving a lecture at the Cité de l'Histoire. It's an opportunity for the curious to discover the secrets of the reign of Saint Louis .

Since October, a lecture has been held every month at the Cité de l'Histoire. In November, historian and writer Xavier Hélary will be in attendance. Join us on Tuesday 14 November at 7pm for an evening on the theme of Saint Louis, hosted by the director of the Cité Franck Ferrand. Xavier Hélary will talk about his reign and his crusades.

Saint Louis, first known as Louis IX, was a Capetian king of France. The son of Louis VIII and Blanche of Castile, he inherited the throne when he was just 12 years old, on the death of his father. For more than 40 years, he was considered to be a fair and diplomatic king, but above all a very religious one. He died during his second crusade at Carthage in 1270. He was canonised by the Catholic Church in 1297.
