Focus on Asian investment

The observation is clear: Paris La Défense is increasingly attracting Asian funds, as confirmed by the amount of their investments of nearly €2.2 billion in less than a year! This is why Paris La Défense will go to Seoul and Hong Kong from November 21 to 26 for Mipim Asia to present its projects.

Indeed, 2018-2019 were record years, with nearly 6 billion dollars invested in Greater Paris, downgrading London to second place, with more than half of the investments, 3.3 billion dollars, in Paris La Défense.

A few major examples

  • Icade sells half of the Eqho tower to the South Korean fund NH Investment & securities for €365 million;
  • In March, Unibail-Rodamco Westfield sold the Majunga tower for €850 million to a South Korean consortium;
  • In October, CNP Assurances sold the EDF tower to the Singaporean fund GIC for €550 million.

The reasons for such a craze

In the context of Brexit, Paris La Défense remains a safe bet for investors looking for competitive returns and a stable environment. But it is also a sign of its renewed attractiveness.

For Marie-Célie Guillaume, General Manager of Paris La Défense, "The very strong public investments for the renovation of the district, the diversification strategy of Paris La Défense and the current vacancy rate are all positive signals for the markets".

A roadshow in Asia to present the territory and strengthen relationships

In this more than favourable context, Paris La Défense and its partners will be present for two meetings organised in Seoul and then in Hong Kong during the Mipim Asia. These will take place on 26 and 27 November, an opportunity to present the opportunities of Paris La Défense, its projects and prospects to investors and representatives of major Asian companies.

Rendez-vous on 26 November in Salon I at 11:45 am for a 45-minute conference with Marie-Célie Guillaume, Managing Director of Paris La Défense, Alexandre Missoffe, Managing Director of Greater Paris Investment Agency, Xavier Lépine, Chairman of Board of La Française and Erik Sondén, Senior Advisor of DTZ Investors
