Paris La Défense ready to act in case of snow or ice!

Winter maintenance plan 2019

While everyone is already feeling the sharp drop in temperature, snow is fast approaching in the business district. Paris La Défense is therefore doing everything possible to ensure the safety of its users and to keep the roads passable.

Snow is making its comeback in the area after a few years of absence. In anticipation of snowfall and the formation of icy patches, the public institution launched its Winter Maintenance Plan on November 11, 2022. This plan, which will be in effect until March 13, 2023, will ensure the safety of users of the business district during their travels, regardless of the winter weather conditions.

Stocks of melting materials ready for use

For several weeks, Paris La Défense has been stockpiling more than 100 tons of ice melter, the product used to salt the roads. They have been distributed to 130 strategic points to serve the various districts. Before the first bad weather, a preventive treatment is deployed to avoid the formation of black ice and prevent the snow from clinging to the ground. The second step is to prevent the ground from slipping and the snow from accumulating.

Our teams are mobilized 24 hours a day

During the entire period of the Winter Maintenance Plan, the Paris La Défense teams are on call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. 44 people are equipped to treat pedestrian areas. Two light vehicles and two heavy vehicles are also mobilized to clear the roadways and fire lanes.
