Aquarys installe son premier tunnel de lavage dans les sous-sols de La Défense !

Aquarys

Since January 1, 2023, restaurants have been required to offer reusable dishes for take-out. And to help them, new companies, like Aquarys, are developing. Their target: restaurants opting to outsource the washing of their containers.

Created by Tri-O Greenwishes, which collects restaurant owners' waste in order to recycle it, Aquarys set up shop on February 20, 2023 under Westfield Les 4 temps!

How does it work?

The 300 square meter station is divided into two separate areas, dirty dishes and dishes, connected by washing tunnels. And when the containers arrive in the clean zone, they are then sifted in the stalling zone to thoroughly clean the surface and ensure that everything is perfect for the customers! The last step is draining and drying in a sealed white area where the dishes are sanitized before they are returned to the restaurants in the business district.

A dozen customers to start

For the moment, only one of the two 14-meter long tunnels has been installed. Yet 20,000 containers and 30,000 cups can already be processed daily, regardless of the material! From glass to stainless steel, from enamelled steel to plastic. In total, no less than one million euros has been invested in this new tool.

During the first months of operation, the Aquarys station will be working with about ten clients. Among them, brands located on the esplanade of La Défense, whose containers will be collected on foot, by cart, because of their proximity. But Aquarys is also looking to attract other types of customers, including event organizers as well as central kitchens for collective catering in the Paris region. And to respect the environment, Parisian customers will then be delivered by bicycle or in electric trucks. A new tool with low environmental impact that will offer a reliable alternative to single-use packaging!
