Nanterre Cœur de Quartier obtains the "BiodiverCity® Ready" label

It's official, the Nanterre Cœur de Quartier operation - West lots and public spaces has been awarded the "BiodiverCity® Ready" label! This is good news that places Paris La Défense and Urbanera (Bouygues Immobilier) as one of the very first developers to obtain this certification.

Launched in December 2013 by the International Council on Biodiversity & Real Estate (CIBI), the "BiodiverCity® Ready" label has just rewarded the Nanterre Cœur de quartier operation for its performance in taking biodiversity into account in a real estate project. Indeed, the label aims to promote the design and construction of a new typology of buildings that give an important place to nature in the city.

To evaluate the performance of different urban projects, several criteria are therefore identified:

  • The contracting authority's commitment to evaluate the involvement, knowledge of the subject and project management in favour of biodiversity.
  • The project management's commitment, which aims to promote, through the architecture of the site and the design of green spaces, the place of nature even in dense urban areas.
  • The commitment of the operators which leads to compliance, on private lots, with the contracting authority's prescriptions in favour of ecology and biodiversity
  • The community's commitment to support the process over time, through ecological management of green spaces and communication on the site's biodiversity.

So many criteria that the West lots of the Nanterre - Cœur de Quartier operation were able to meet!
