An EcoGarden label for the Garden of Reflections!

The first shared garden initiated by Paris La Défense, the Jardin des Reflets has just been awarded the EcoJardin label. Covering an area of 1,600 sq.m., the garden offers areas of 250 sq.m. to be cultivated to the neighbourhood's residents and employees. This label comes at a time when the public establishment is continuing to deploy its strategy "Nature en ville". The aim of the approach? To reintroduce greenery into the business district and to offer the possibility of cultivating one's own plot of land while preserving natural habitats.

Since 2016, Paris La Défense has been actively involved in the creation of shared gardens. The establishment is continuing its policy of enhancing public spaces through the use of plants. These spaces provide opportunities for meetings and exchanges between employees, associations and local residents who are involved in bringing them to life and making them flourish.

The Jardins des Reflets is a garden open to all, but also a shared space that offers areas for cultivation and planting with different species of shrubs, as well as a vegetable garden with aromatic and edible plants. A real plant area in a dense urban environment, it is also a fragrant and flowery relaxation area, equipped with benches and picnic tables. All of which contributes to the friendliness of the neighbourhood!

What is the EcoGarden label?

Created in 2012, the EcoGarden label is a certification resulting from a reference framework for the ecological management of green spaces. It brings together across France nearly 600 labelled sites with around 80 public or private managers. The aim of the approach is to widely promote good practices and encourage the changes already initiated by certain gardeners and green space managers.
