An edition of the "Hopes of architecture" prize dedicated to Paris La Défense

As it has done every year since 2008, BNP Paribas Real Estate is organizing the "Espoirs de l'Architecture" award. And for this 15th edition, the company and the public institution Paris La Défense have decided to combine their approaches. This year's objective: to imagine the low-tech transformation of the area!

Who can participate, and why?

Open to 4th and 5th year students in architecture schools or in a bi-curricular architecture/engineering program, this competition aims to encourage ideas and the training of tomorrow's young talent. Building better while using fewer resources, proposing useful and adaptable solutions, this is the challenge of this new edition! Candidates will have to be creative to reach the objective set by the Raison d'être of Paris La Défense : reduce by two the territorial greenhouse gas emissions by 2030.

How does the competition work?

Participants must propose a project that responds to these issues by choosing an existing building or facility on the territory, not to demolish it, but to transform it! Resource savings, robustness, usefulness or accessibility... several criteria will be required to be selected.

What will the winner get?

This year the candidates will have not one, but two chances to win a prize! The selected candidates will present their detailed and documented proposal in front of a jury of professionals, and the winner will receive the "Hope of Architecture" award and a check for 4,000 euros. But that's not all! The files will also be put online so that Internet users can elect their favorite project. The one who wins the most votes will be awarded the "Internet users' favourite" prize and the sum of 2,000 euros. Registration is open until midnight on November 14, 2022. The results and awards ceremony will take place at the Forum des Métiers de l'immobilier et de la ville on February 15, 2023.
