Cancellation of the Paris La Défense Christmas Market
Despite the willingness of Paris La Défense and Codecom, organiser of the Christmas Market, to maintain this long-awaited event, the reconfinement has made it impossible to hold it. Usually a million visitors come to the largest Christmas market in the Île-de-France region.
For several months, Paris La Défense and Codecom worked with the services of the Hauts-de-Seine Prefecture to adapt the contours of the Christmas Market to the various health requirements and to support the events sector, which was severely impacted by the crisis. However, the announcement of the reconfinement by the President of the French Republic was the reason for the 2020 edition of the market.
It is a hard blow for the Codecom company but also for the business district, whose economic and image spin-offs are numerous thanks to this event.
The Paris La Défense Christmas market
- one million visitors each year
- 200 chalets for 350 exhibitors on nearly 13,000 sq.m.
- an unmissable event since 1995 (2020 would have been the 26th edition)
