The Boieldieu residence, the centerpiece of the Wilson block, is one of the largest residences in the area, with 479 units. Boieldieu shows the concern of the architects to compose a harmonious volumetric assembly. Unlike typical apartment buildings, a metal structure was chosen!

A word about the architect

Boieldieu brought together on the same site two architects, who until then had never worked together. Olivier Rabaud had built many industrial buildings. In 1960, he joined forces with Roger Gilbert. An architect with a good knowledge of housing issues, he notably contributed to the construction of the Franco-American Memorial Hospital in Saint-Lô in 1956.
