Within the new district of Les Groues, extending the Rails garden, La Forêt des Groues integrates a diverse programme of housing, a shared space and a crèche.
The urban structure proposed to the residents is structured around landscaped areas: pedestrian paths, shared or private gardens, a communal vegetable garden, and the educational space of the day nursery. It organises the precedence of plants over minerals and allows the flow of paths through planted, productive and edible spaces, reservoirs of biodiversity.
The dwellings are arranged around this large planted space with a concern for the right scale by offering a diversity of typologies: superimposed houses, a "serpentine" building to the west and a "stepped" building to the north.
The materials, light-coloured brick, natural wood cladding and shutters, white rendering and openwork metal, constitute a real added value in a place shaped for quality of life.
Extending the sunlight into the flats, the beautiful private terraces, balconies and gardens are projected onto the vegetation and the pedestrian path.
The landscape designers have imagined a flourishing plant setting in osmosis with a low carbon footprint architecture.
