Silver Island

Silver Island, a new development in the Esplanade Sud sector

The Silver Island program is located in the Michelet district of Puteaux, near the Boulevard Circulaire of La Défense, near the Vignes footbridge. The plot was initially occupied by an R+8 building complex with two basement levels. The 12-metre wide ring shape of the existing building, which encloses the interior spaces of the block, led to a demolition-reconstruction solution being preferred.

The new building, which is entirely new, will thus benefit from a new layout. Indeed, the U-shaped layout will now offer an open and generous garden in the heart of the block. The project will have three basement levels, a garden level and a superstructure with a ground floor and a mezzanine.

An uncluttered building

The façade on the street, initially punctuated by metal frames, will now have the form of a thin double skin, composed of large glazed triangles with varying inclinations. In order to preserve the views of the neighbouring dwellings, the building is inspired by the stepped morphology of the existing building. A double-height system is a way of shaping the silhouette of the building. One of the building's particularities is a monumental staircase that runs along the façade of the building with a staging worked in the spirit of Parisian staircases. Terraced gardens are also envisaged. Access to the building is from the hall located at the Rond-Point de la Liberté.

Silver Island will have a private car park with 140 spaces, a space for bicycles, an inter-company restaurant and a rooftop. A shop is also envisaged at the foot of the building.
