Parc du chemin de l'île

Parc du Chemin de l'île

This departmental park of 14.5 hectares, inaugurated in 2006, is a place for walking and relaxation. It is part of the green network initiated by the Department to "return the Seine to the inhabitants" by reclaiming leisure and walking areas along the river. Composed in such a way as to offer a wide variety of atmospheres and walks, the park is punctuated by pavilions intended for its animation: the "pavilion of the banks", the "house of the Park" is a place of discovery and information where are presented thematic exhibitions and documentation on the environmental approach of the park. Vegetable gardens, Ariadne's thread, nesting huts, horse guards... inventive playgrounds with a careful design, soliciting the agility and ingenuity of children from 2 to 12 years old, have been specially created for this park!

An exemplary ecological achievement

The park is equipped with basins allowing the purification of part of the water of the Seine by the natural action of filtering plants and micro-organisms:

  • A natural recycling of the water of the Seine
  • A varied flora
  • An ecological management that limits the use of pesticides
  • A building that respects the requirements of high environmental quality (HQE)
