Jardins de l'Arche

The Jardin de l'Arche is located below the Grande Arche under the 450 m long aerial footbridge designed by Paul Chemetov. The famous landscape architect designed a large garden of 8,000 m2 where mineral and vegetal elements mingle freely, evoking the four elements: water, fire, earth and air.

These gardens offer a space of relaxation and greenery to visitors who wish to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city and recharge their batteries. The gardens of the Arch are famous for their varied vegetation and contemporary design. There are carefully landscaped areas, fountains, ponds and art installations. Visitors can stroll freely and enjoy the beauty of the landscape. The gardens of the Arch are also equipped with playgrounds for children, as well as numerous picnic and rest areas. In addition, the unobstructed view of the La Défense skyscrapers that rise behind the gardens gives a unique perspective on the modernity and urbanism of the city.

The garden and footbridge link the cemeteries of Neuilly and Puteaux. The Jardin des Eléments features plants, minerals, water and different themes of nature related to the walk. Between the large white willows, the herbaceous and arboreal strata progressively evolve: gunneras, azaleas, coral dogwoods, parrotias, maples, miscanthus, Pennisetum border. The pathway is composed of a set of stones constituting a calade inviting to circulate between the vegetated spaces. These are marked by simple wooden posts.

The Jardin de l'Arche was awarded the EcoJardin label in 2022.
