Sports and leisure facilities in the west of Greater Paris
Paris La Défense Arena is a private project developed by Stadôme and managed by Racing Arena. It was carried out by the architecture agency Atelier Christian de Portzamparc and the construction group GTM Bâtiment / Vinci.
It consists of the construction in Nanterre of the 3rd largest sports and cultural leisure facility in the Ile-de-France region. On 7 February 2012, Paris La Défense Arena was awarded the Grand Paris label.
A modular and modern complex with a surface area of 94,000 sq.m., Paris La Défense Arena hosts a resident rugby club, Racing 92, and a varied cultural and sports programme that can accommodate 5,000 to 40,000 spectators, making Paris La Défense Arena one of the largest indoor facilities in Europe.
The programme also includes 31,000 sq.m. of office space occupied by the Hauts-des-Seine Department, shops including the Racing 92 club shop, a brasserie and a gourmet restaurant.
