How to get to Paris La Défense by public transport?

Map of public transport in Paris La Défense

La Défense welcomes more than 400,000 people every day via Coeur Transport, the busiest multimodal station in France.

Smoothing out rush hour traffic

With the aim of improving the comfort of the many users who access the La Défense district every morning during rush hour, Paris La Défense has signed, with the Île-de-France Region, in partnership with Île-de-France Mobilités, RATP, SNCF TRANSILIEN and 14 companies in the area, a Charter of mutual commitments for the smoothing of rush hour. In this way, the companies undertake to promote alternative work organisation and encourage modal shift towards cycling in particular, and to reduce by 5 to 10% the number of their employees using public transport on arrival at La Défense, during the morning rush hour, each working day and in particular on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Concrete measures

  • Promotion of staggered working hours at the individual level;
  • Awareness-raising among managers and employees to avoid imposing appointments, e.g. before 10am and after 5pm;
  • Creation of coworking spaces;
  • Provisions to encourage the use of bicycles and other active modes of transport;
  • Measures to encourage carpooling;
  • Use of teleworking.

But Paris La Défense does not stop there and sets up the Moov&Win platform!

Moov&Win: change your habits and earn points!

Moov&Win encourages employees of participating companies to change their home/work mobility and adopt new ways of working. This platform, designed by the company Transway, is very simple: the employee registers online and accumulates points every day according to his or her daily actions. The points accumulated then give access to gifts!

What are the objectives?

  • To reduce congestion on public transport and ease the congestion at peak times
  • To promote the development of innovative and sustainable mobility (self-service electric scooters, bicycles, etc.)
  • To conclude, the rule of thumb is to develop a better understanding of users and practices by analysing data on the use of transport and mobility services.

To conclude, the rule is simple: get involved and, above all, change your habits!

> Go to the platform, we'll explain everything.
