Le Diamant is one of the few buildings whose form and style are in keeping with the major programmes of La Défense. As the only office building on a block normally used for housing, it creates links with its environment. The irregularity of its plan and the generosity of its lighting contribute to the association of the complex in the urban space.
The whiteness of the stone facing of the facades contrasts with the smoked glass walls mainly used at the time. All these architectural choices tend to trivialize an office building that is often marked by radicalism.

A word about the architects

Thierry Melot (1945) founded his first agency in Dakar, Senegal, in 1972. He was then the coordinating architect of the master plan for the development of tourism on the country's Petite Côte. In the 1980s, he returned to Paris where he opened a new agency with Dominique Armand. This agency was entrusted with several housing operations, including those in the Charras Nord and Fauvelles districts of Courbevoie.
In La Défense, the duo signs the Le Diamant building, located behind the Linéa.
