While at La Défense, the towers are designed according to a unique template, the architects chose horizontal facades for the Aurore tower. This solution consists of accentuating the levels with solid precast concrete spandrels and continuous copper-coloured glass strips. The absence of load-bearing points also makes it possible to exploit this feature. Partially renovated in 1993, the Aurore tower will give way to the new Aurore tower soon.

A word about the architects

Former studio mates, all graduates of the Institut d'urbanisme de Paris, Claude Damery (1929), Pierre Vetter (1930) and Gilbert H.Weil (1931) founded their agency in 1956. They built many facilities and housing complexes, such as 485 of the 1,100 housing units on the Bièvre block in the 13th arrondissement of Paris. The Aurore Tower is their only creation in La Défense.
