A dispute between Michel Andrault and Pierre Parat led to the separation of the duo. In 1995, Andrault continued his work at La Défense, teaming up with Nicolas Ayoub. This association resulted in the change of style adopted for the Belvedere. Compact, combining stone and glass, the two bodies that mark the entrance to the Valmy district, at the back of the Grande Arche, do not exceed nine floors.

The shapes echo both the monumental cube of Spreckelsen and the tapered lines of the Pacific Tower. Conceived as a square, the semicircular patio converges all work spaces. The exterior façades reveal a discreet attic floor that conceals the complexity of the building, namely the spanning of the circular boulevard.

In July 2016 Paris La Défense signed an agreement with VINCI Immobilier authorising the operator to substantially restructure the Belvédère building and create additional volumes as part of its works.

Ideally located in La Défense in the Valmy district, at the foot of the Grande Arche and the Cœur Transport multimodal hub, the building is also part of the Jardins de l'Arche sector, a new leisure and cultural destination in Paris La Défense.

The property developer entrusted architect Axel Schoenert with the task of reinventing the building. For the future façades, he has imagined an optical effect based on lines that will connect the different spaces of the building and help to convey a very contemporary image.

At the end of the work, which will be delivered in 2018, the building, which is not subject to the regulations for high-rise buildings (IGH), will provide 18,000 m² of office space. Highly flexible, it will offer large floors of more than 1,600 sq.m. and benefit from a vast terrace and a landscaped roof terrace. A shop created at the foot of the building completes the service offer of this very dynamic district.

Le Belvédère was the first building in La Défense to offer the "Open Work" concept developed by VINCI Immobilier, a new office solution adapted to changes in the use of workspaces. It should be remembered that the creation of the volumes required to open Open Work resulted from the sale between Paris La Défense and VINCI Immobilier.

A word about the architect

It was in 1995 that the Agence Conceptua, born of the association Michel Andrault (1926) - Nicolas Ayoub, joined La Défense. The two architects, one a tenor of the French architectural scene known for having signed several master plans for the business district and the other, co-signatory of the Société Générale towers in 1995, launched their first project: the KPMG building (today Le Belvédère).

They then concentrated on the main buildings of the Faubourg de l'Arche: the Cedar Tower, the Aegean Tower and the Adria Tower.
